Lowell W. Busenitz

Lowell Busenitz is Professor and Puterbaugh Chair in American Enterprise Academic Director - Center for Entrepreneurship at University of Oklahoma.
He received his PhD in strategic management from Texas A & M University. He served on the faculty at the University of Houston before joining OU in the Price College of Business. He teaches entrepreneurship and strategic management courses courses for undergraduate, masters and doctoral students. His research has appeared in the leading journals in management and entrepreneurship. He serves on the editorial review boards of some of the top management and entrepreneurship journals. In addition to his journal publications and review work, Dr. Busenitz is a frequent presenter at major conferences both in the US and internationally. Dr. Busenitz is the co-founder of the Center for Entrepreneurship in the Price College of Business. He also played an instrumental role in the development of the undergraduate entrepreneurship major and the MBA entrepreneurship concentration. Not only has Lowell been key to our formal curriculum initiatives but his leadership as faculty advisor in the Oklahoma Governor’s Cup Business Plan competition has been noteworthy as well. His student teams at both the undergraduate and MBA levels have received multiple 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards over the past three years.
