Giovanni Battista Dagnino is Professor of Business Economics and Management at the University of Catania, Italy. He has held visiting positions at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Wharton School, London Business School and IESE Business School, and received his Ph.D. in Business Economics & Management from the University of Catania and MURST. His current research interests concern the relationship between strategy and governance, the elaboration of a coevolutionary framework which explains the gap bridging process between capability and opportunity space, coopetition strategy: theory and practice, the evolution of strategy paradigms, and research methodology in strategy and organizations.
He was co-organizer of the Strategic Management Society Special Conference "New Frontiers in Entrepreneurship. Strategy Governance and Evolution", Catania, May 23-25, 2007.
He seats on the editorial board of Long Range Planning and International Journal of Intelligent Enterprise and in the Group Scientific Advisory Committee of Grenoble Ecole de Management. He has authored or edited seven books, among which "Strategic Capabilities and Knowledge Transfer Within and Between Organizations. New Perspectives from Acquisitions, Networks, Learning and Evolution", Edward Elgar, Cheltenham, UK (2005), and "Coopetition Strategy: Theory Experiments and Cases", Routledge, London (forthcoming).
